Alive Fit & Free is about lifestyle, and that includes lifestyle fitness. We’re about incorporating the activities that fit you and that you love into your life.

We all know that our bodies were made to move. If we don’t move they don’t work efficiently, right? So this being said, activity or exercise IS not optional!!

Well, I’m certainly glad we got that out of the way, so let’s get into it!

One thing I need to say here is I like to have fun! Now, to me, exercise needs to be fun and hold my attention. We need to enjoy and like what we are doing, or it won’t last. That’s why we need to determine what it is that YOU like.

Each person is different, so each person’s fitness likes and dislikes, goals, desires and activity are going to look as unique as the individual. That’s really cool isn’t it? It is unique to you, the way you move and express yourself… own it and be proud of it.

 I like to look at our lives and see how to find ways to increase our activity throughout our days and when we get used to being active it becomes a way of life.

The first thing we need to consider is where do you want to go? What do you want? What are your goals?

Whether you are an athlete training for a triathlon, or someone with health challenges and 100 lbs. to lose, first of all we need to define our goals. We need to know where we are headed and then we need to have a map to reach out destination.

Define your goal, make your plan, map it out--- make it realistic, doable, enjoyable and something that will bring you success and satisfaction.

Ok, another thing that’s really important about a plan is this. We are talking about a wellness lifestyle, - this is for life- an abundant, healthy, happy life.

It’s kind of like going on a road trip. We need a map to follow to reach our destination. Now some people are on a time limit and need to get there in a hurry. They drive straight there, with minimal distractions, down to business.

So, say for instance your training for a marathon, bike tour or swim meet. That’s your kind of map—hard core, stay on track, eyes focused intensely on deadline training, no distractions, no sight seeing, no side trips.

For someone who might be dealing with a serious health issue, say high blood pressure or diabetes, it’s imperative for that person to stay intently focused on the foods they eat and being active everyday as well.

They will need to travel much like the athlete with their eyes on the goal and a deadline to meet until their condition is manageable, then they can relax a bit and do a little sightseeing.

Some people might not be in a hurry to reach their destination. They are relatively healthy with no particular training events or weight loss challenges and just want to live that active and healthy life, enjoying themselves and their families.

These are like the tourists taking leisurely road trip, stopping to enjoy themselves along the way.

Even though we are each different with different challenges, different goals and at different points in our lives, I guarantee we all want to live life being alive, fit and free… healthy from the inside out.

 So, let's get started today!
