How to Stay Motivated
One thing I hear over and over again is, ”I’m just
not motivated." Often this happens when we have taken our focus off of our goal and looking at the circumstances around us.
When we put our focus on circumstances, that can be discouraging especially if we are not seeing change happen quickly, or we are having to work harder than we expected to reach our goal.
So how can we stay motivated?
First, be specific about what you want...set the goal and then FOCUS on the END result.
How do you see yourself there? What do you do to be that person? What kind of exercise do you do? How do you eat to stay healthy? What do you do to enjoy yourself? Focus on living like that now. AND thank yourself for taking care of you! Relax and enjoy yourself along the way, confident that you are making healthy choices.
Have you ever tried to draw a straight line on paper from one point to another? If you look at the point you are going toward, your line will be pretty straight, but if you look at the line… it is probably all over the place.
Ah, so it is with our goals…. FOCUS!
Implement small, baby step changes and be consistent. When you are at point A and do these two things… baby step changes and consistency, and you arrive at point B, you will be pleasantly surprised at the changes that have occurred.
So don’t keep looking at where you are now, but focus on the goal, make small changes consistently, and you will arrive before you know it….and you will enjoy the journey.
