FAVORITE HOLIDAY RECIPES

WALDORF SALAD

My Grandmother always served this on Christmas and is one of my children's favorite

To serve 4:

Place in a salad bowl:

  • 3 4 stalks celery, washed and sliced
  • 2 apples, chopped in small pieces
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • ¼ cup raisins

Dressing

Mix together:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tlb.  – ¼ cup milk
  • dash of sugar( optional)
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla

Add just enough milk to make a creamy dressing. Pour on salad and enjoy!

 

 FAVORITE BROCCOLI SALAD

Place all in a beautiful bowl:

  •      1 head broccoli

  •      6 to 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled optional

  •      1/2 cup chopped red onion

  •      1/2 cup red grapes

  •      8 ounces sharp Cheddar, cut into very small chunks optional

  •  ½ cup walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds

Mix together in a separate bowl and toss on salad:

  •      1 cup mayonnaise

  •      2 tablespoons white vinegar

  •      2Tbl. sugar

  •      garlic powder to taste

  •          Salt and freshly ground black pepper

This is really yummy and so pretty!
