Quick and Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Sometimes trying to come up with new and healthy meals for breakfast can be a challenge. Here are some ideas that have worked for my family:

  • Breakfast Burrito
  • Breakfast Omelet
  • Eggs and Beans
  • Just Eggs
  • Meat and Eggs
  • French Toast
  • Fruit Salad
  • Yogurt Parfait
  • Smoothie
  • Oatmeal

On The Run Breakfast Ideas:

  • Yogurt
  • Apple or other fruit and small handful of nuts
  • String cheese
  • Dry granola (1/3 cup) - make sure you drink plenty of water if you eat it dry
  • Rice cake topped with peanut butter and applesauce or a light drizzle of honey
  • Slice of cheese, piece of fruit or a slice of lunch meat

This basic eating philosophy should always come into play, especially with children:

  • Make it tasty
  • Work with the foods they like
  • Gradually introduce new foods into their diet
  • Cut back on sugar and white flour products
  • Start serving whole grains
  • Try to make it healthy as far as possible!
